Pre-arrangements

Pre-arranging and pre-financing a funeral is a method some people choose to assist their survivors after death occurs. Discussing the future of one’s death is often difficult. Yet discussion and pre-planning can alleviate problems that may arise for a family after a death has occurred. Pre-arranging a funeral should be discussed openly and frankly with those survivors who will be most affected by the death. By doing so, one gives the survivors a feeling of being involved in a last act of recognition, honor and respect. This will help them with the grieving process and with the stress surrounding a funeral when that time arrives.

In addition to helping loved ones cope with a death, entering into a pre-arrangement will also give one the opportunity to put their wishes in writing. It should be pre-faced by a review and evaluation of current funeral costs, funeral ceremonies and alternate funeral/burial procedures.
