Lloyd Wayne Gearin

Click To Enlarge Newton Falls - Lloyd Wayne Gearin, 72, of Braceville-Robinson Road, Newton Falls, died Monday at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born February 26, 1939 in Salineville, the son of the late Lloyd and Louise Thomas Gearin.

Lloyd lived most of his life in the Salineville area, attended Salineville High School, served in the United States Army, worked in maintenance at Lordstown General Motors, moved to Newton Falls in 1980, and then retired from Lordstown in 1994. He enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes whenever they were on and was considered one of their most enthusiastic fans. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and visiting with his internet friends all around the world. He especially enjoyed time spent with his beloved pets Benji and Fluff.

Lloyd will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years Linda Heiney Gearin; five sons, David Gearin of Warren, Robert (Debbie Chapman) Gearin of Newton Falls, Ronald “Cowboy” Gearin of Warren, Ricky (Theresa) Gearin of San Antonio, Texas, and Eugene (Joann) Gearin of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Christina Gearin Winters of Warren, Margret (Carlos) Valladares of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Amy (Jim) Dean of Salem; two sisters, Janet Eish of Rock Hill South Carolina, and Betty “Tootsie” Dean of Salineville; 13 grandchildren Melissa Gearin, and Christopher “Mike” Winters of Warren, Shana Haines of Newton Falls, Eric Mechling, and Greg Gearin of Leavittsburg, Mathew Gearin of Warren, Kandace Gearin of Girard, Alec Gearin of Nebraska, Tara and Margaret Gearin of San Antonio, Texas, Sandra, JC and Desiree Valladares of Grand Prairie, Texas; and one great granddaughter Lydia Montgomery Gearin.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Ruth Sevek, 6 brothers, Fred Gearin, Francis “Bub” Gearin, Eugene “Ham” Gearin, Kenneth “Weiner” Gearin, Ronald Gearin, and David Gearin, and one daughter Lori Ann Gearin.

A memorial service will be held at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville, at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 17.

Family will be present from 10:00 AM to receive visitors.
