Charles "Chic" Lohman

Salineville - Charles “Chic” Lohman, 89, died early Monday morning at the Carroll Health Care Center in Carrollton, Ohio.

He was born April 13, 1922 in Salineville, a son of the late Fred and Clara Lafferty Lohman.

Chic lived all his life in the Salineville area. He was a veteran of the United States Army. His occupation was a coal miner but many will remember him as the owner and operator of Chic’s Lake and for his Christmas tree farm. He loved hunting and fishing and told many fish stories at the Trapper Shack in Salineville.

Chic will be sadly missed by one son Fred (Rita) Lohman of Canfield; one granddaughter, Miranda Lohman of Carrollton; one grandson, Hunter “Peep” Lohman of Canfield; two step grandchildren, Josh and Chad Lewis both of Wellsville.

Chic was preceded in death by his wife Delores Starkey Lohman; one brother Elmer Lohman; one sister, Cletis Grant, and one stepson, Tom Lewis.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 AM at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville, with the Reverend Tim Cashen of the Monreoville Assembly of God Church officiating.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the American Legion John Adams Post 442.

Family and friends may call at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
